Our history

Mariscos Los Arbolitos de Cajeme,

Started in 1988 on a street corner in Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, with a small stand that brought neighbors and visitors together with the flavor and quality of its seafood. Inspired by his father’s experience as a waiter at the “Los Arbolitos” restaurant in Los Mochis, Sinaloa,

Juan Diego Cota Cota decided to embark on opening a restaurant alongside his father. With experience gained from working in a fish market, selling shrimp and fish door-to-door, and taking on any work that would bring food to his family, Juan Diego built the foundation of the restaurant.

The success of Los Arbolitos turned the small stand into a formal restaurant, and the popularity of its food paved the way for international growth.

From that first location on Tabasco and Guerrero streets, the brand has expanded to over 18 branches in various cities across Mexico and 3 in the United States, while always maintaining its family essence and commitment to quality and service.

Over the years, Los Arbolitos has faced significant challenges, including the pandemic, which severely impacted the restaurant industry. Yet, instead of withdrawing, the restaurant continued to support its team and community, providing meals to those in need and upholding the spirit of service and generosity that defines it. A phrase by Don Diego Cota encapsulates their values:

“Restaurants may close… but that doesn’t mean the stoves go off. Go and share food with underprivileged neighborhoods.”

This statement highlights the values and commitment that Los Arbolitos de Cajeme represents.

Today, Mariscos Los Arbolitos de Cajeme is much more than a restaurant; it is a tradition of flavor and quality that represents the best of Mexican seafood cuisine. Every branch follows the principles that guided its foundation: always offering fresh seafood with service that makes customers feel at home.
